Reading for Relevance is a weekly reading group run by PhD students Mat Smith and Joe Reynolds from the University of Brighton in which issues related to linguistics, cognitive science and, particularly, relevance theory are discussed. The group has been meeting weekly for over four years, and regular attendees come not only from universities within the UK, but also (so far) from China, Egypt, France, Greece, Ireland, Norway, Poland, Spain and Switzerland. Reading for Relevance is intended primarily for ECRs, but all are welcome to attend. Occasionally, we hold visiting speaker sessions. The group meets on Wednesdays between 13.30 and 15.00 here on Microsoft Teams.
If you cannot access the group via the above link, please don’t hesitate to contact the organisers Mat Smith (m.smith62@uni.brighton.ac.uk) or Joe Reynolds (J.Reynolds10@uni.brighton.ac.uk). They will add you to the list of Team members.
